| I didn't really think I would like Japanese braiding (Kumihimo) because of
its repetitive nature, but I have to say, I really enjoyed making these fan pulls.
It was almost meditative in its movements. This is why I like spinning as well. When
you are in the zone, and the muscles are working automatically, your mind is allowed to just
watch in wonder as your work is being created. It is hard to describe this state of
mental detachment from what your body is doing. Sorry I'm getting so existential, but it
was such an unexpected gift from this art.
I made two using this same design of different lengths (one for the light, and one
for the fan speed). The clinking of the chains that were there was beginning to
drive me batty.
